Enumerator

An enumerator is a professional who gathers data by visiting specific households or locations, and is required to be skilled in navigation, customer service and technology. Enumerator will be responsible mainly for collecting data from field for surveys, verification of the data, post implementation monitoring and post distribution monitoring, etc. Collect, analyses and present quantitative and qualitative data through written reports and dashboards.

Responsibilities:
  • Primary data collection through filed visits and phone interviews with beneficiaries and communities through HH survey, focus group discussions (FDGs) key informants’ interview (KII).
  • Learn to use assessment tools in the field.
  • Test assessment tools.
  • Review and clean of data (as required).
  • Data entry on mobile data collection tool (Kobo Collect or any other tool).
  • Ensure that the assigned data collection areas/ beneficiaries are covered within the timeline.
  • Perform monitoring activities.
  • Conduct all activities and perform work in accordance to Humanitarian Principles, Bockas Code of Conduct.
Requirements
  • Experience working for humanitarian organization.
  • Relevant experience in social and community engagement activities (data collection and community consultations.
  • Fluent in at least one local Nigerian language (good skills in oral and written)
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to adjust to difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
  • Ability to maintain confidence and impartiality during tasks implementation.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).

Field Agent

A Field Agents is an individual who supports a program implementation team to perform tasks, gather information, or execute the project outside of the traditional office or business premises.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Implementation of project activities according to the project plan and guidelines.
  • Support in the distribution of food/cash/medications or any assistance to beneficiaries
  • Support outreach activities to reach relevant beneficiaries.
  • Collect data at community and/or household level and conduct different assessments and surveys upon needs.
  • Fluent in at least one local Nigerian language (good skills in oral and written).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations from beneficiaries or local stakeholders for improvement to the Project Coordinator.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members and leaders.
  • Address beneficiary concerns, feedback, and complaints in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.

Transcribers

A transcriber is someone who listens to audio or video recordings and converts the spoken words into text.

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to listen and compile audio recordings during KII, IDI and FGDs sessions.
  • Ability to create verbatim and accurate written versions of recordings.
  • To review and edit transcriptions done by speech recognition software and identify any inconsistencies.
  • Complete transcriptions on time and review drafts for any spelling, grammar, or formatting errors, as well as other inconsistencies.
  • Communicating with the data collectors and supervisors when there are issues.
  • Submit completed drafts to supervisors and correct any errors from their feedback.
Requirements
  • A first degree in an or equivalent in any discipline is essential.
  • Previous experience in transcribing audio recordings is essential.
  • Speaks, reads, and writes fluently in English and any local dialect required.
  • Must have a computer system and excellent computer application skills. Particularly MS Word and Excel.
  • Must have a very good computer typing speed.
